Rose didn't start as a book. She started as a small drawing — a girl with bright eyes, holding something that looked like a ticket, standing in front of a gate she clearly wasn't supposed to open.
That drawing sat on a desk for a long time before anyone asked the right question: what's on the other side of the gate?
Once we started answering, Rose came alive. She had favorite words ("brave-ish"), a habit of talking to lanterns, and a quiet certainty that magic is real but polite — it only shows up if you ask kindly.
